SCOTT, David Peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital on Thursday, February 21, 2019 David Scott passed away at the age of 73 years. He will be missed by his children Shannon Scott (Adam Williamson), Brett Scott (Quintana Carter), Kyle Scott (Melissa Schweyer) and their mother Shelley Scott, and by his grandchildren Lexi and Nathan Williamson, and David and Cameron Scott. Also survived by his sister Noreen Moore, nieces and nephew, Adele, Debbie and David, sister-in-law Lorna Scott, niece and nephew, Angela and David, cousin Norma Weyemars and her daughter Kathy with her children Chase and Sully. David is predeceased by his parents David and Georgina Scott, his aunt and uncle Fred and Sarah Cummings, and his brothers Thomas and Jim Scott. David immigrated to Canada from Northern Ireland when he was 10 years old. From humble beginnings, David worked tirelessly throughout his life to build and sustain a successful business and wonderful home for his family in Waterdown. He enjoyed walking, fishing, gardening and travelling. He was an avid poker player and often participated in tournaments around south western Ontario and Las Vegas, always in pursuit of the 'big win'. Most of all David enjoyed spending time with his family. His three children and four grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy. He took great pleasure in helping his children in any way possible. He loved to watch his grandchildren play soccer, baseball, hockey, swim and generally enjoyed spending as much time as he could with them. David had many wonderful attributes, but his most notable would be his generosity and willingness to help others. He never hesitated to help a friend or family member in need, always putting others needs before himself. His family and friends have many wonderful memories of their time with him and he will be greatly missed. Friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life at ST. JAMES UNITED CHURCH , 306 Parkside Drive, Waterdown on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow in the church hall.
