Dermot O'Brien Obituary

O'BRIEN, Dermot, Huntsville, Ontario, Hamilton Ontario, and originally Dublin, Ireland on 20 April 2020, peacefully at home. Beloved husband of Mary, loving father of Brian, Derek and Stephanie and granddaughter Sophie. Predeceased by his loving daughter Jennifer. He will be deeply missed by his brother Donogh, sisters, Mary and Fiona, and extended family and friends and colleagues. Adored missed and always remembered by his heartbroken family.

Unfortunately we just found out about Dermot’s passing. He and Mary were so kind to me when I first came to Sudbury. He let me use his equipment and did tests for my patients in his office. In turn, I would make sure his young children would get so excited that they wouldn’t sleep at night!
Our deepest sympathies. A fine doctor and a real gentleman.

I worked for Dermot for 2 Years at OCC. Him and I just got along so well and made a great team. Will miss him so much. He always said he saw me doing great things and every time I feel I have done something great I always think of him!

We were residents in the Ophthalmology Program at the Montreal General /McGill University 1976 to 1978 . Enjoyed Dermots easy going personality. We met subsequently in Chicago on subsequent occasions where I am in practice . Miss his joyful laughter
