Dinah GATTO Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dinah in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Sam (1997) of over 72 years, and loving Mother of the late Tom (1976). She leaves behind her daughter, Diane (Joe), her son Rob (Cathy). Cherished Nonna to Marcus, Natasha (Demar) and Marissa. Predeceased by her parents Valentino and Emma Andreatta (Beraldo). Beloved sister to Vilma and the late Dino Tessaro, the late brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Stella Andreatta, in-laws Gaetano and Cologera Gatto, and the late sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Annie and Joe Morreale, Isabel and John Kaduk, Florence and Vito Ditta and Sarah and Tony Ford.
Dinah was born in Hamilton and grew up a Brightside girl. Dinah was an accomplished business woman in the travel business for over 42 years. A member of the Catholic Women's League for over 60 years. Dinah is remembered with so much love by her many nieces and nephews for whom she cared deeply, her cousins and special friends Mavis, Ruth, Jenny, Marg, and Miranda. With her sharp mind, quick wit and sense of humor, she lived her life to the fullest by travelling the world with her husband Sam to many parts of the world that some of us just dream of. Dinah loved her gardening, reading, knitting, and especially baking and cooking. We can't forget all those Family Sunday Dinners. She enjoyed watching any good game spending more hours than we can count cheering, and screaming at her TV. Despite adversity and unimaginable tragedy, she triumphed and taught us all to keep our heads high, be strong and celebrate the joy in life and family. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Solomon and the 3 East Wing nurses and staff at St. Peter's Hospital - Palliative Hamilton, Ontario.
Visitation at Smith's Funeral Home, 454 Highway #8, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday May 9th, from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway 8, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. If desired, memorial contributions to St. Peter's- Palliative Care (Maplewood Ave) Hamilton, Ontario would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

What a great pleasure it was to have known my wonderful neighbor lady! We had a lot of fun times together and always had a good laugh. How fortunate you are now honey to be with your other family that have been waiting for you. Sweet dreams in Heaven.
