AMATANGELO, Domenico March 3, 1925 - May 12, 2018 Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Juravinski Hospital, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Maria (nee: Amicucci) for 65 years. Loving and cherished father of Jerry (Ginny) and Frank (Janine). Devoted grandfather to Breanne, Domenic, Gennaro, Matteo and Julian. Loved brother of Maria (the late Ippolito) Leone and brother-in-law of Elvira (Nicola) Letterio and Orietta (the late Giuseppe) Tucci. Missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and Australia. Especially missed by his niece Fiorina (Ascenzo) Ricciotti. Predeceased by parents Francesco and Maria Giuseppa, brothers Pasquale (Preziosa), Nunzio (Giuseppina), sister Caravita (Michele) DeSantis. Domenico came to Canada 67 years ago from Italy with very little, but leaves this world with a great deal of wealth. His wealth is not measured by the materialistic things but rather by his legacy and accomplishments. He taught his boys the true meaning of fatherhood by hard work and dedication to family through honesty, generosity, caring and love. His love for his family was unconditional and so is our love for him. We thank God for our family being blessed by such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and best friend to his sons. We will miss the many conversations, his smile and advice more than words can describe. His grandchildren were an important part of his life and he was so very proud of all of them. Our hearts feel empty, yet we know you are in the hands of God and those that you loved. Family and friends are welcome to Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King St E, for visitation on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Vigil prayers at 3:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Incarnation of Our Blessed Lord (Barton at Nash) on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
