It is with great sorrow that the family of Domenico Antonio DiTomaso announces his passing, on December 24, 2022, in his 87th year. Born 1936 in Casacalenda, Italy, he immigrated to Hamilton, Ontario in 1966, and later moved to Ottawa to be with his loving family in 2015.
Antonio will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 63 years, Mafalda (nee Piperni), and daughter, Maria Concetta (Ted Golding). Nonno will also be fondly remembered by his granddaughter Christina Domenique (Matthew McKenna).
Antonio built a beautiful life together with his wife Mafalda, the two were inseparable and did everything together. They could often be seen sitting together on their veranda or taking an after-dinner stroll through the neighborhood. He worked hard during his career at Dofasco Steel, and enjoyed his retirement at the age of 56. He took pride in his Italian culture and way of life. His passions included tending his beautiful gardens or creating his next batch of homemade wine, and he was a master at both. He will be remembered by family and friends as a cheerful man, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was an amazing husband, father, and nonno.
The family would like to express our appreciation to the staff and nurses at Orchard View for their wonderful care and support.
