Mary, Donald, Laurie and Terri, my deepest sympathy to you and your families on the passing of Don. He was great friend and like a “big brother” to me when I was growing up. Your family always held a special place in my heart for your friendship was more than that of just a neighbor. Don got me involved with Army, and you took me into your home and looked out for me when my parents were out of town on vacation. I can remember in particular how comforting this was during the FLQ October Crisis in 1970. I can remember staying up with Don watching the late night movie “On The Beach” after coming home from a date to stay at your house (it was a big event when this movie was released on TV). He gave me good guidance in our discussions as he drove me down to the Army meetings. I will always remember and cherish his friendship. Most sincerely, Malcolm MacDonald
