Eleanor Lynn WOOD

Surrounded by the love of her family, Eleanor passed peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, after a brave struggle against cancer on May 12, 2023. She was 76 years of age. Cherished wife of Harvey Wood. Forever loved mother of Jamie Wood (Nancy), Bev Wood (Gord), and Jenn Wood (Nick). Beloved grandmother of Nolan (Brianna), Brielle (Mitch), Lindsay, Sawyer, Laura, and Hazel. Loved sister of the late Pat Shaw (Dan), Marg Gilligan, and Laurie Coverdale (Dave), and sister-in-law of Norma Wood. She will be dearly missed by her extended family and many dear friends. Eleanor started her working life teaching but found her calling as a motivational speaker. She entertained audiences across North America with her wit and humour with a few life lessons thrown in! She embraced the challenge of farming with her man Harv and was able to build a successful farming enterprise. With her busy life she still found time to join the local Lions Club. Eleanor was also an Honorary Life Director with the Rockton World's Fair and an active member of Sheffield United Church. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home. A 'Celebration of Life' Reception will be held at the Rockton's Agricultural Society Hall, 812 Old Hwy. 8, Rockton, Ontario, on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 1 - 4 p.m. At 2:30 p.m. there will be the sharing of memories, reflection, and prayer. In accordance with Eleanor's expressed wishes, cremation has already taken place. In Eleanor's memory donations to the Rockton Lions Club would be appreciated by the family.
