Elfriede Hilde "Elfie" NESKE

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved and cherished Mother, Oma and Great-Oma; Elfriede "Elfie" Hilde Neske (Nee Buelow)on August 13, 2021 at the age of 89. Predeceased by her loving husband for 50 years Gerhard Neske (2007) and son Christopher John Neske (1995). Loving Mama-Bear to Susan Lynn Neske. Adored Oma to Jordan (Chelsey) and David and Great-Oma to Jaxon, Colson and all the fur babies. Elfie will be deeply missed by her siblings Edmund (Heide), Waltraud and predeceased by her brother Heinz. Elfie will be lovingly remembered by her brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada and Germany. Retired from Norton Company of Canada after 17 years and worked as a hairdresser for 15 years. Elfie loved cooking, reading, sewing, handy crafts, church and all her ladies groups. Special thanks to all the staff of the Hamilton General Hospital including ICU and 8 South for their kind, gentle support and care. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at CRESTMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue East on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11 a.m.; link to be provided on funeral home website. Interment to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Trinity Lutheran church or the charity of your choice. God saw she was getting tired and the cure was not to be. So He put his arms around her and whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful hearts we watched her fade away. Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
