Elizabeth "Betty" Gentle

It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished Mum, Nan and friend on January 31, 2023. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Sara, Laura and Lisa whom she loved dearly and also by Fred who was like a son to her. Forever remembered by her grandchildren Krista (Mike), Heather (Donny), Geoff, Alex, Hannah (Tom) and Sadie, and great grandchildren Hayden, Carter, Reese, Riley and Nora. Fondly remembered by her nephew Raymond and family and friends in England and the United States.
Betty was born in Coventry, England and after the war moved to Canada where she met her husband Raymond (predeceased 2010). During their 52 years of marriage, they raised their three girls and together built a successful advertising business. They traveled often and danced together beautifully. An avid knitter, she will be missed by her "Stitch and Bitch" friends Moyra, Lori and Lorraine. So many teddy bears were lovingly knit for so many children. Always positive and without complaint our Mum kept her sense of humour until the end. We will miss her laughter, advice, stories and most of all her unwavering love.
We are so thankful to everyone who helped us make her wishes of passing in her own home, surrounded by her family and friends possible. Also, a huge thank you to Laura and Fred whose loving care and dedication to Mum allowed her to stay in her own home for her final years. We are all grateful and blessed to have had so much time and to have made so many memories with our beautiful Mum and Nan.
