Eric COURAGE Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts the family of Eric announces his peaceful passing at Heritage Green Nursing Home in Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in his 77th year. Eric was married to the love of his life and soulmate Joan Courage (nee Blair) for 53 years. He will forever be missed by his children Cathy (William) Abbott of Smithville and Debbie (Jamie) of Stoney Creek. Very proud Papa of Hunter, Abbigail and Kaylee. Eric is survived by siblings Edmond (Ted) and Diane. Predeceased by his parents Cyril (CL) and Hilma. As well as siblings Guy, Daphne, Cyril (Jr), Doreen, and Dawn. He will be deeply missed and remembered by many family and friends. Eric was born in Buchans, Newfoundland. Eric was an entrepreneur and a pioneer in bringing "window film" to Canada. He was an avid Blue Jay fan and loved watching "Sunday" football, he was never one to back away from a sporting pool or side bet. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and PSW personnel at Heritage Green Nursing Home for all their care and support. Per Eric's wishes, arrangements have been entrusted to Merritt Funeral Home, Smithville and a private Celebration of life will take place at a later date. Joan, Cathy and Debbie - Heather and I are very saddened to learn of the passing of Eric. I have many great memories of "Dr. Tint" socializing with him at various locales in Burlington, Blue Jay games, and trips to Buffalo Bills games with the Fairview Fabulous 40. I can just imagine Eric, Two-Six and R.O. together again. Our sincere condolences you and the extended family.

Dear Joan, Cathy and Debbie - it has been many years since we've seen one another, but news of Eric's passing reached me today. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I have fond memories of the entire family from camping at Finger Lakes, nights at Jake's and countless jobs tinting windows. Eric taught me a lot and I attribute much of my entrepreneurial career to my days working with him in my early 20's. I learned a lot from him and had fun along the way. Though I haven't seen Eric in many years, the news of his passing touches me dearly and I want you to know you're all in my thoughts.
