Evelyn Doris BASCIANO

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Evelyn Basciano (nee Andrechek) at the age of 96 on April 28, 2023. Born in Galetta, Ontario. Evelyn is predeceased by her husband Nicholas (1996), and son Tom (2007), her parents Rose and Frank Andrechek and her brothers Leonard, Percy, Raymond, Lloyd and sister Loreen. She is survived by her children Susan Snelgrove (David), Peter Basciano (Lisa), Judy LaRocca (John), Carol Basciano (Steve), Dan Basciano (Barb), Cathy Basciano, Ted Basciano; and grandchildren Andrew (Leanne), April (Kyle), Lisa, Nick (Megan), Rebecca (Germain), Lucas and Sarah (Alex). Will be missed by her extended family, John Josko and Alma Reilly. We will lovingly remember the many family gatherings in the family home. Mom was a very smart lady with a great sense of humour. She enjoyed travelling throughout her life, including to Bridge Tournaments with her friend Margaret Hamilton and achieved her Life Masters. Evelyn also enjoyed bowling, playing euchre and watching sports. A special thank you to the staff at Idlewyld Manor in Hamilton for their professional and friendly care. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene's Roman Catholic Church, 232 Queenston Road (at Parkdale), Hamilton on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
