With broken hearts, our family sadly announces the passing of Florence Iacoboni at the Hamilton General Hospital on February 24, 2022 at the age of 88. Florence is now reunited with her beloved husband Ezio. Special mother of Louie, Mauro (Marion Huibers), and Lorena (Ed) Grosel. Adored nonna of Justin (Nikki Dime), and Michael Iacoboni, along with Nicole (Amos Connolly), and Stephen Grosel. Bisnonna of Cohen and Nico Iacoboni, and Joseph Connolly, each of whom she adored. Predeceased by parents Adelelmo and Nerina Pongetti. Loving sister of the late Rolando (Lena) Pongetti and Marisa (John) DiMarcantonio. Dear sister-in-law of Luisa (the late Vince) Belletti and the late Elia Trionfi. she will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends. Florence was a dedicated employee of St. Joseph's Hospital kitchen services for many years. Our mom and nonna will forever be remembered for her fun-loving ways, sense of humour, and her delicious meals -- especially her gnocchi. We wish to express our deepest gratitude to her PSWs, and to the entire medical and support staff on 7 South at the Hamilton General Hospital, for all of their care and compassion. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E., on Sunday, February 27th from 1-4p.m. & 5-7p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 10a.m., with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. All guests are required to practice physical distancing and wear a face covering. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
