(Frank) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in his 87th year. Most beloved husband of 64 years to Lidia. Loving father of Eugene and Joani Basolini, Sandy and Louisa Basolini, Mary and Branko Vincic. Cherished Nonno of Della- Lee (Steve), Eugene Jr. (Victoria), Laura (Carson), Natalie (Andrew Dimoski), Frankie, Christa (Christian), Aleksandar (Ariana) and Nancy. Adored great-grandfather to A.J, Dante and Leo. Predeceased by his parents Eugenio and Marietta Basolini and in-laws Vincenzo and Rosina Serravalle. Brother of Alba and Tony Segreto of Toronto. Brother-in-law of Elena Bruno and Maria Miceli. Predeceased by his siblings Luigi, Sante and Rosina Basolini and brother and sister-in-laws Louisa Basolini, Umberto Cundari, Geppina Basolini, Mario Serravalle, Gaetano Bruno, Antonio Miceli, Raffaele and Giovannina Serravalle. Dad was a faithful man devoted to God. A man who was the epitome of service to others through his actions, his words, his thoughts and his deeds. Above all, his endless and timeless devotion to his wife Lidia who he cherished as a direct blessing from God. Dad was known for his fun-loving, caring and sincere personality. Breaking bread with others, no matter the occasion, everyone in his presence felt and experienced his hospitality and generous heart. His positive and uplifting manner and profound wisdom left you always feeling encouraged and optimistic no matter what. A dedicated employee of Stelco Stelwire for 34 years. He had a passion for music, taking pride in his collection of records, and enjoyed playing the guitar. When he wasn't listening to music, he was enjoying a glass of his prized homemade wine, while watching Juventus and The Toronto Maple Leafs with his family. Dad will always be remembered as a loving and gentle man who taught us the true value of respect, faith, family, friends and above all, love. Simply put - the purest of gentlemen. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jennifer Jones and Dr. Christopher Ambis and the team at Ambis and Jones Family Medicine. Thank you to the community services of the VON Hamilton, CBI Home Health and the LHIN. A special thank you to all the staff at St. Joseph's Jurvinski Tower Complex Care 5th floor for their constant support, care, compassion for our father these last three months. Also, special thanks to Mary Stock for her unwavering support. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East, on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis Xavier Church on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 10 a.m. Private entombment to follow. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all guests are required to RSVP through the funeral home website, or by calling the funeral home. All guests must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
