Gabriel Cabral Obituary

With heavy hearts we share the saddest news. On May 16, 2023, at Sunnybrook Hospital Burn Unit, as a result of a workplace injury at Stelco, Gabriel passed-away after a long hard fight. He was surrounded by his loving family. Beloved son of Pamela Fraser and Gabe Cabral. Cherished brother to Shane and Matthew Cabral. Deeply missed by his girlfriend Sarah Zarek. Caring nephew to Jo-Anne, Cyndy, Diana, and Rob. Grandson of Terry Fraser (Chris), and Gabriel Cabral Sr., and he will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by many cousins, friends, and our puppy Sadie. Gabriel was an avid fisherman with a great passion for the outdoors who loved to work out and cook with his girlfriend Sarah. Special thank you to all the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Sunnybrook Hospital Burn Unit. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery. Gabes smile lights up a room. He's the type of person where even if you don't know what he's laughing at, you can't help but laugh yourself. His joy is contagious! Gabe would always laugh at his own jokes, so even if they werent funny ( which they always were) you were laughing along. Gabe sure knew how to entertain a room and have a great time with all his friends. Not only was he funny and outgoing but he was also the biggest gentleman you can meet. Gabe always looked after others and put everyone before himself. He was the type of person to give you the shirt off his back. One time we were walking in a horrible snow storm and Gabe shared his gloves and jacket with me to keep me warm.

Gabes best friend is his mom Pam, That's where he learnt to be generous, adventurous, loving and courageous. They share a love for their family dogs and working out. Gabe was so inspired by pam and her pride in working out, which is what made him into the gym shark he was today. Gable loved fishing, kick boxing, watching trailer park boys, listening to Sublime and hanging out with his two younger brothers Shane and Matt. Gabes love for his family is never ending! They are his whole world and he would do anything to protect and support them. I'm going to miss all the birthday parties, new years and gathering with friends that we shared throughout the years! You will always be remembered by many and you will always be our hero and guardian angel. I can't believe we are here, you will be greatly missed forever Gabriel Terry Cabral. Till we meet again xo

Funny Story: Gabe and I were hanging out with our friends Kyle, Kayla and Danielle. Gabe could hear a bunch of noises out side so he decided to grab a flash light and go look. It was now silent and we told Gabe he's paranoid and there's nothing there. We turned on the flash light and all of a sudden their was 20 eyes all lit up in the pitch dark. We then got charged by a group of 10 racoons and all screamed and ran into different directions. We didn't go back outside for the rest of the night.

Gabe was a lot of fun to be around. Always had a smile on his face. Knew how to slip a prawn on the barbie.
Very sad to see him go this way. God bless.
