It is with great sadness that the family of George Cruikshanks Grant announce his passing at the age of 91. With this sadness we also celebrate the full and rich life he lived and how George deeply enriched the lives of all who knew him. George was a great man, father, husband, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend to many. Preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Eleanor (Morrison), and his grandson Andrew West. Survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Doreen (Scharfe), his children Susan West (Paul), Sharon Rose (Rob), Richard (Jackie), Robyn Bourck, grandchildren Sutherland West, Stratton West (Briana), Sheppard West, Thomas and Carson Rose, Teketel, Aklilu and Rudi Grant, Bronte Mergaert (Josh), Grant and George Bourck, and great grandchildren Hendryx and Kingsley West and James Mergaert. Also survived by stepdaughters Sue O'Driscoll and Karen Desjardins and their children Jessie Spurell (Jesse), Ryan O'Driscoll, Justin Lorenzen and Jake Lorenzen (Shawna). George was a retired manager with the Ford Motor Company in Oakville where he worked for more than 30 years. He was an exceptional athlete in many sports as a player, coach and manager, including being a champion bowler and snooker player. He was a self-taught musician who loved to sing and dance, performed with the Geritol Follies for years, and was a member of the Hamilton Tartan Club. Cremation has taken place and interment is at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Hamilton. There is no service as per George's wishes. Please make donations to your favorite charity. www.smithsfh.com

George was so very important to my family. Aunt Bess and Uncle Ed's favourite; like a brother to me and my sister Sheila; and of great support to my son, Colin. A gentleman who brought joy to everyone he met, George will be sorely missed.
Condolences to Doreen and all the family.
Love, Nancy
