George PALMER Obituary
August 11, 1943 - January 31, 2023
Passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023, at Juravinski Hospital surrounded by family in his 80th year. Beloved husband to Mary Jane (Janie) Palmer for 55 years they were married in 1967 the centennial year for Canada. Cherished father to Brad (Kim) Palmer, Sean (Sieun) Palmer, son-in-law to Betty Bury and the late Bill Bury. Adored grandpa to Ty, and Ewan who were his pride and joy. Brother-in-law to Brenda, Valerie, and Al. Brother to Lew, Caroline, predeceased by Gord, Harold, Yolanda, and Frank. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
George worked as a supervisor at Revenue Canada for over 30 years. He also loved music, namely, classical, 50's, country, folk, nouveau flamenco, and rock. His many hobbies included literature, history, Hockey (Maple Leaf's), Golf, Baseball (Blue Jays), and playing the guitar. He will be remembered as a wonderful conversationalist and always having a unique nickname for everyone.
Bay Gardens Funeral Home entrusted with arrangement. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, on Monday, February 6th from 3 p.m. till 7 p.m.

Sincere condolences to the family especially my dear friend Janie. I met Janie and George in 1962 and remained close friends ever since. I remember when George worked at Hugh Walkers hardware store Janie and I would go across the street from Grafton's where we worked and visit him and their love just grew. Hopefully George and Bill (Janie's Dad) are having a round of golf...... Sincerely,Esther Williams
