Gianna Zecchini Obituary

Gianna Zecchini was a cherished daughter, sister, friend and colleague. She left this world much too soon on April 8, 2023 at age 59 in Toronto.
She was born to Sergio and Louise Zecchini on February 7, 1964 in Hamilton, ON. She was forever the "Little Sister" to Gemma (Bill Wesioly). After graduating from Mohawk College, Gianna moved to Toronto to pursue a career: first, as a medical laboratory technician, followed by 30 years with the medical diagnostics firm Inter-Medico where she managed a dedicated team of professionals serving clients at labs and hospitals throughout Canada. She was known for both her strong work ethic - (she rarely, if ever, missed a day of work including during her recent illness) and for her commitment to getting the job done to the customer's satisfaction.
Gianna shared a love of sports with her father spending many Sunday mornings watching Italian soccer and had a special affection for the team Udinese. From very early childhood, Gianna loved music of all genres but had a special fondness for the Rat Pack. As an infant, she shared her crib with two teddy bears named Dino (Martin) and Frankie (Sinatra). Mom always knew she had awoken when she heard her singing The Birds and the Bees in her baby voice.
Gianna loved to travel and had visited a great deal of our beautiful planet with her family and friends. A few short weeks ago she was swimming with the famous stingrays off the shores of Grand Cayman Island. Besides her immediate family, Gianna leaves behind many special friends - Wendy and Jim and their sons, Evan and Ryan, Courtney, Ed and Cos, Cathy and Fraser as well as cousins, aunts and uncles in Italy, the Ancaster/Dundas area and Toronto.
Gianna will be deeply, deeply missed. She will join her father at Resurrection Cemeteries in Ancaster where they can resume their dialogue about who qualifies as the best soccer player. A celebration of her life is being arranged for a later date with details to follow. At that time we can share our memories of Gianna in tribute to a life well-lived.
