It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Giovanni in his 94th year, surrounded by his family on Monday, April 11, 2022. Predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Onorina. He leaves behind his loving daughter Nicoletta (Giuseppe) Cannella. Proud Nonno to Danielle (Joe) Tornifoglia and Joey (Sera) Cannella. Loved and Adored Bisnonno to Alessio, Marco, Olivia, and Alessandro. Predeceased by his parents Nicoletta and Vito Caravaggio, in-laws Concetta and Domenico Mancini and his sister and brother-in-law Maria and Emilio Caravaggio. He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-laws Eva (predeceased Antonio) Caravaggio, and Fiorenza (Michele) D'Alessandro, brother-in-law Vito (Luciana) Mancini, and his nieces and nephews both in Canada and in Italy. Special thank you to the staff and doctors with Hamilton Health Sciences and Dr. Allega for all their care, support, and kindness. The visitations will take place at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) Stoney Creek (905-664-4222) on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 8:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 10 a.m. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre - Hamilton Health Sciences, in his honour.
