Giuseppe DeMarinis Obituary

With deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our cherished father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Giuseppe DeMarinis, peacefully on August 4, 2022 with loving family by his side. Adoring husband of the late Cesidia DeMarinis (2019), devoted father of Marylee Carbone, Tony DeMarinis and Denise (Aldo) Genovese. Very proud Nonno of Christina (David) Falletta, Melinda (Jason) Dachuk, Isabella, Carissa and Matthew DeMarinis and Luke and Gabriella Genovese. Dearest Bisnonno to Gemma, Alyssa and Adrian Falletta. Also lovingly remembered by Mario Carbone, siblings, nieces, nephews, friends and relatives in Canada and abroad.

There is far too much to say about the extraordinary life Giuseppe led and the beautiful legacy he leaves behind than can be captured in few words. 'Joe' or 'Peppi' (as he was usually called) brought love, caring, kindness and good joy to everything he did from his days as a young boy in the small war ravaged Italian town of Pratola Pelignia to the 62 loving years he spent married to his childhood friend and soulmate 'Cesi'. He was an extremely intelligent man who remained sharp and quick witted until his very last days. The strength, courage and dignity he showed through countless life challenges in his nearly 91 years, including after the sudden loss of his beautiful wife several years ago, will always remain an inspiration to the family he leaves behind.

Joe's devotion to his 3 children Marylee, Tony and Denise, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren never wavered. No matter the circumstances, he would remind them how much they stayed in his heart through countless small gifts and acts of love. We will deeply miss the warm and knowing smiles, the pride he took in nurturing his small vegetable garden, and the way he could sprinkle wisdom and guidance to everyone while sharing good food, debating world politics, discussing the soccer world, and teaching everyone a master class at the family poker table!

We are comforted that he left this world as he wanted, embraced by his loved ones, and by our knowledge that 'Peppi and Cesi' are forever together again...dancing, singing, and looking proudly on the wonderful family they built and that will proudly carry on their traditions, values and memories.

Giuseppe is resting at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, 43 Barton Street East, Hamilton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the evening.
