Giuseppe "Joe" Samarelli

Giuseppe (Joe) Samarelli was born in Molfetta Bari, Italy on October 15, 1937. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children on April 16, 2022. Survived by his loving wife Lucia, Giuseppe is predeceased by his parents Ilarione and Margherita Samarelli as well as his in-laws Gioacchino and Salvatrice Sardo. Giuseppe will be lovingly remembered by his children Margherita, Salvatrice (Silvia), Isabella, Liliana (Chuck), Leo (Sheri). He will forever be in the hearts of his grandchildren Vanessa, Nathan, Katrina, Natasha, Angelo, Marco, Evan, and Amber as well as his great-grandchild Carson. Predeceased by the late Giuseppe Sardo (Tita) and children, Calogera and the late Guetano Giordano and children, Calogero and Santa Sardo and children. The late Antonia and Domenico Depinto, the late Sergio and Paola Angione, the late Michele and Marianna Minervini. Survived by Anna (the late Francesco Altamura). He will live on with many relatives and friends in Ontario, U.S.A., Italy and Belgium. Joe had a passion for music, cards, bocci ball, fishing, and making limoncello. He was retired from the Dofasco and had the fondest memories of Sauble Beach with his wife, children, grandchildren and close friends. He will be deeply missed by his family as a loving husband, father, Nonno and Great Nonno. He had a great sense of humour and would always be counted on when in need. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East in Hamilton. Visiting will be held Tuesday, April 19th from 2-4 and 6-9. Mass will take place the following day, Wednesday April 20th, at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church Our Lady of Lourdes sit at 10 a.m. A Burial will follow mass at Our Lady Of the Angels Catholic Cemetery.
