GLEN, Gregory Micheal Born in Hamilton, Ontario June 18, 1946, died at Emmanuel House, Hamilton, Wednesday, December 19, 2018, after a long, difficult illness which he dealt with privately, with courage, humour and love toward those who cared for him. He was accompanied through this last part of his journey by his beloved and loving partner, Marie O'Brien, and his beloved and loving sister, Glen Allen Lawson. They were beside him at the moment of his death as they were through the months of his illness. Greg was the son of Phyllis and Ted Allen (deceased), brother of Glen Allen Lawson (Jim), and James Glen (deceased). His loss is mourned by nieces and nephews, cousins, an aunt, and many friends. Greg had many dreams and the courage to try to realize them. He loved music and dancing, and for almost 10 years played as the drummer for a band that travelled about Ontario. He loved cars and trucks and opened and owned Glen Trucking and Southside Detailing. Always a hard worker, he always found work and did it well, beginning with delivering papers, working at Westinghouse, at a jewellery shop and car paint shops. He retired from Presvac Systems Burlington. Many thanks to all those who supported him and us through these 9 long months of hope and fear. Bill and Pam, Julie, Derek, Sam, Aaron, Stephen, Shirley, Rocky, Danielle and others not named but not forgotten. And very special thanks to the extraordinary staff of Emmanuel House - every single one. From the moment we first met you, Greg and we were cared for with kindness, respect and constant attention to his and our needs. Words are not sufficient to express our gratitude. Bless you all. If friends or family wish to honour Greg's life with a donation, a gift to Emmanuel House would be very appropriate, or to a
charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are in the hands of Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre. A celebration of Greg's life will take place in the New Year, details to be announced. We hope those who knew and loved and enjoyed him will join us then. ""Peace be with him, Love surround him. Light perpetual shine upon him""
