It is with deep sadness we announce Harry Brock Mills Mitchell, Sr. lost his battle with cancer in his 72nd year. Devoted Husband of Wendy Mitchell (Smith) for 48 years. Loving Father of Harry II (Alessandra) and Ryan. Inspiring Grandfather to Vittoria and Harry III. To him, nothing was more important than his family. He was the founder and President of Armagh Cash Register Limited for over 41 years. Privately and publicly he often said that his team at Armagh were "part of his family". Due to his natural leadership, his family, friends, and many colleagues often and affectionately called him "The Chief". Committed to the City of Hamilton, he was very active in the community with memberships and involvement in a variety of charities and service clubs including the Chamber of Commerce, Sertoma Club, served on the Board of Junior Achievement, and was a life-long member of ICRDA/RSPA since 1966. As a member of the Ad and Sales Club of Hamilton he served as President for two back-to-back terms and was Master of Ceremonies for the Hamilton Citizen of the Year Award for 25 consecutive years. In addition to his professional life, Harry was a dedicated member of Tuscan Lodge #551 for over 50 years (1971), where he served as Master for two consecutive terms, and had a noble and distinguished career in Freemasonry. He was a Templar Knight of the Godfrey de Bouillon Preceptory #3 (1996), a Royal Arch Mason of Keystone Chapter #224 (1984), Rameses Shrine Club of Toronto (1981), 32nd Degree in the Consistory of the Scottish Rite in Hamilton (1973), Sir William York Rite College #57, Salem Council #9. He was Past District Secretary of Hamilton Masonic District A, and Past Grand Steward to the Grand Lodge of Canada. He also affiliated with Beach Lodge #636, Wentworth Lodge #166, and was an Honorary Member of Red Jacket Lodge #646 in the State of New York (2007). When he was diagnosed with cancer he stated resolutely, "I can't complain. I have already lived more than two lifetimes." He will be missed by family, friends, colleagues, and co-workers immensely. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East, on Tuesday, March 30th from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at St. John's Anglican Church cemetery in Ancaster. All guests must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Due to covid19 restrictions, it is required that you RSVP individually for visitation at
www.friscolanti.com on Harry's Tribute page. If desired, donations to the Tuscan Masonic Lodge #551 or the Cancer Assistance Program would be appreciated by the family.
