Ian DOWDING Obituary
DOWDING, Ian Sutherland 81, of New York City, died April 8, 2018 with his family at his side. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to Victor Pearcey Dowding and Mary Collie Dowding (nee Campbell). A resident of New York City, he worked at Greenwald Industries for 28 years, and then was Sacristan at St. Patrick's Cathedral for over 15 years. He was a champion of structure and order, and a good and loyal friend to many. He is survived by his cherished sisters, Mary Ballantine and Linda Blackley, nieces Juliet Baker, Vanessa Burt, Laura Ballantine and Jennifer Ballantine; nephews Marcus Burt and Mark Ballantine; his great-nieces Meg Ballantine, Kate Ballantine and Samantha Burt; his great-nephews Zacharie Richard, Adam Richard, Nicholas Ferwerda, Jacob Ferwerda, Rory Hopper Ballantine, Hollis Bowman and his life-partner, R. George Winters.
