I met Jim in Highschool. I later worked with him at Stelco and we shared classes while serving our separate mechanical related apprenticeships. In spite of never becoming real close friends we always liked each other. I found Jim to be a person who wanted to do good things in the world. He did just that. At Stelco he worked hard for his fellow workers rights and I would like to think helped many families to have better fortune because of his efforts. We had recently been in contact and had decided to get together for a pint when the restrictions were relaxed. I regret we will not get that opportunity. Rest in Peace Jim. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Jim touched many lives and made a difference with his generosity of spirit. Within our hearts and in our memories, those we love will remain with us always.

Jim and I started our Blacksmith Apprenticeships at the same time; we became chums, I remember he was a quick learner and eager to do many different jobs. Jim had a strength in his physical self as well as his spirit and mind. His enthusiasm knew no bounds, he was an incredible person. I did not complete my apprenticeship and moved into metallurgical. Jim and I stayed in touch for a while but over time we lost touch. I am truly sorry to hear this news of Jim's passing. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Of all of the people I worked with at the Blacksmith Shop in Stelco, Jim stood out like nobody else. I will remember Jim in my prayers for a joyful life in the hereafter. I'm sure our Lord will find a meaningful job and purpose for this wonderful man.
