James PARKER Obituary

May 2, 1925 to October 27, 2021
Jim passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital on October 27, 2021 at the young age of 96.
Loving husband of first wife Victoria (2019) and their children Dale (2011), Dale's wife Echo, Nancy (Bob) and Laura (Thomas). Beloved husband of second wife Garnet (2009), and her children Tom (Mae), Cathy (2020), Chris (Earl) and Cindy (1996). Beloved Grandpa to 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Jim was best known for his outstanding service to Rotary and the City of Burlington.
He was an avid golfer, and member of the Burlington Golf and Country Club for 81 years.
He will be greatly missed by his many friends and Rotarians.
Donations in memory of Jim to the Rotary Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family, in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 1st at Smith's Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of the QEW) from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 2nd from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. A service will be held on Wednesday, November 3rd at Port Nelson United Church, 3132 South Dr. at 1:00 p.m. In accordance with provincial regulations, there is a limit to the number of visitors who may attend at one time. Please RSVP in advance by clicking the blue button below, found under 'Service Details' on Smith's website (www.smithsfh.com). After the service there will be a reception at the Burlington Golf and Country Club from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. For the reception, proof of vaccination is required.

Lori,

It was just today in talking to the Parkers Cleaners team that I heard of the passing of your father.

I remember him being such a nice, patient father, though larger than life, who made a young (and very nervous) high school boy dating his daughter feel at ease.

I just smiled.

Thinking of you today.
