BROUWER-WASSENAAR, Jane Peacefully, with family by her side, the Lord called home Janny (Jane) Brouwer (nee DeBoer) on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Shalom Manor, Grimsby, at the age of 83. Loving wife of Peter Brouwer for 23 years and the late George Wassenaar for 29 years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Wenda (Jim) Veldman, Marion (Richard) Rahm, John (Henriette) Wassenaar, Frances (Sid) Bosma, Charlene (Tim) VandenEnde, Willy-Jane (Dave) VanDyken, and step-mother of Sid (Carol-Ann) Brouwer, Ben (Jean) Brouwer, Flory (Charlie) Fluit, Stan (Susan) Brouwer, and Gerald (Bev) Brouwer. Cherished grandmother of 45 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Dear sister/sister-in-law of Sid (Joanne) DeBoer, Norm+ (Emmy) DeBoer, George (Jane) DeBoer, Frances (Oebele+) DeBoer, Cor (Pat) DeBoer, and Annie+ DeBoer. Dear sister-in-law of John+ (Hilda) Wassenaar - Alberta; Hen+ (To+) Wassenaar, Dick+ (Bely+) Wassenaar, and Cathrien (Piet+) VanderZwan - the Netherlands. Dearly loved by her extended family in Canada, the Netherlands and USA. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Rehoboth United Reformed Church, 77 Glancaster Road, Ancaster. The funeral service will be held at Wellandport United Reformed Church on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joel Dykstra and Rev. Steve Swets officiating. Private burial at Riverside Cemetery, Wellandport will precede the service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff of Shalom Manor for the loving care Jane received for more than three years.
