Jane LENSINK Obituary

On April 29th following a fall and a brief hospital stay, Jane Lensink went to be with Jesus. She was 94. "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His faithful servants." (Psalms 116:15)
Jane is survived by her husband Bill of 68 years, and her children - Martin and Linda, and Homer and Marian, and grandchildren Anna Bailey, Neil and Sheryl, Esther and Kris Gibbs, Alan and Larisa, Matthew and Jennifer, Stephen and Brooke, Jonathan and Lisa. Jane was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren.
Jane and Bill were born and raised in Haarlo, a small farming village in Gelderland, The Netherlands where they enjoyed a common church, school and neighbourhood. In recent years, Jane and Bill relished and re-lived those early memories, counting it a blessing to have shared that common history. Jane was the youngest child and only daughter of the village blacksmith - her fiancé was smitten with her and the technology in the shop. After World War II, with limited opportunity in the Netherlands and with a wave of other young immigrants, they landed in Hamilton in the early '50's. They spent their 70 Canadian years in Flamborough and Grimsby.
Jane spent her life getting things done; running the family home, providing for everyone's needs including wonderful baking, knitting and crocheting, and she managed the family finances to the last penny. Jane treasured family, especially grandchildren. She was so very grateful with the arrival of the great-grandchildren over the past decade.
Jane was a righteous follower of Jesus, assured of her faith and her certain eternal home. Visitation will take place at Calvary Gospel Church, 4129 Hixon Street, Beamsville, on Wednesday, May 4, from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M., with a Celebration of Life at the church on Thursday, May 5, at 12:30 P.M., and a light lunch to follow. A private family interment will have taken place prior to the funeral service at White Chapel Gardens, Hamilton. Donations in Jane's memory can be made to Niagara Christian Gleaners - www.niagaragleaners.org. The Service can be live-streamed by following the link on the funeral home website under Events.

We're grateful for the gift that Jane was. Our family has been blessed by the friendship of Alan and Larissa Lensink. Through them we've experienced warm friendship, generosity, and kindness... virtues we believe were handed down from Jane and Bill.
May the Lensink clan be comforted by the memories of Jane's life and the assurance that she's gone to a place of external bliss.
