Jeannette MAZZA

It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Jeannette Mazza (Soltesz), in her 80th year, peacefully made her way to her Lord. She will be greatly missed by her best friend and pain in the butt, Murray Mazza, her husband of 57 years, and her children Jeannine (Tony), Martin (Nancy), and Melissa. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Myles (Jillian), Ariana (Roger), Marlena, Macey and Mitchell, and her great grandchild Gabriel (Myles and Jillian). She is missed by her siblings that she held dear close relationships with: Bill (Shirley), Panna (Paul), and Rosie (Mike). She will be reunited with her sister Irene in Heaven. Jeannette was also a cherished and loving aunt to several nieces and nephews who always took an interest in their lives. Jeannette was a dedicated nurse for many years. She graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1964. She ran a Travel Agency, and then retired and supported her husband Murray with his Law Practice. Jeannette was best known for loving a good can of soup, having the cleanest house, having the best garden on Edgewater, her funny one liners, her amazing cabbage rolls, her delicious Christmas baking, Christmas caroling with family, her love of shopping, enjoying Judge Judy, and 48 Hour crime shows, having the cutest outfits, celebrating the successes of her grandchildren and spending time with her siblings and children. But most of all, she will be remembered for being the most supportive, honest, generous, and caring wife, sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother. She cherished time at her home watching the lake, her cottage, vacationing in Florida, and the Casino. She was dedicated to her faith and spent a lot of her time attending or listening to Daily Mass. Her faith was admired by her children and grandchildren. We pray that the Lord welcomes her with open arms when He sees her face to face. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27th, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave. Her family will be celebrating her entrance to Heaven with a Funeral Mass on Thursday, July 28th, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 934 Highway 8, Stoney Creek at 10 a.m. Cremation and private burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish (www.ihmchurch.ca) in honour of Jeannette, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
