Jo-Ann LAMORE Obituary

Jo-Ann passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Charlton Campus after a short illness. Born and raised in Hamilton, Jo-Ann was a graduate of Glendale High School and McMaster University earning her B.Comm. She earned her MBA in Paris, France. She enjoyed a successful career as a chartered accountant and 32-year tenure as Professor at Mohawk College. Jo-Ann enjoyed nine years of retirement with Marcus, her best friend and husband of fifty-two years, along with their cats Ginny, Shelly and Mr. Chipps. Growing up in the sixties, Jo-Ann loved the music and dance of that era. She lived her entire life in Hamilton volunteering for many local organizations and supported numerous charities. Jo-Ann will be fondly remembered by relatives and family near and far. She touched many people and will be missed by all. Everyone loved her for her sense of truth and fairness and her honest soft-spoken manner. We will all remember her creativity and sense of humor. She loved art, collecting beautiful objects and holiday decorations. Predeceased by her father John Lamore, brother David Lamore, and parents-in-law Audrey and DeWayne Deacon. Survived by her mother Donna Lamore, her sister Cindy (Kyle), and sister-in-law Adrienne Gilmour (Stuart). Jo-Ann held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Anne Woods and the superb staff at St. Joseph's. Private cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jo-Ann's life will be announced at a later time. In the meantime - "Get on up and dance to the music"- Sly Condolences, memories and photos may be left at www.circleoflifecbc.com

Such an incredible person! Too many fine traits to mention, but high among them are ethical, smart, talented, dedicated, professional, able & willing. Exemplary. Completely devoted to the well being of her students & graduates. I say proudly that Jo-Ann was an great friend of mine.

I was deeply saddened by the news of Jo-Anne’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Jo-Anne’s soul is now at peace. I remember her so well and Marcus as we were all close friends way back in our younger years and so glad I was able to talk with her again not that long ago.
