Joan was born in Flin Flon, MB on September 25, 1938. After a brief and unfortunate battle with cancer she passed on September 29, 2022.
She is survived by her sister Ruth of Winnipeg, MB, her daughter Anita of Coquitlam BC, her three sons Reg (Ann) of Toronto ON, Gord (Dawn) of Ancaster ON, and Brian (Shelley) of Dundas ON, and her much loved grandchildren Brett and Ryan, Patrick, Sean, and Grace.
Joan's life was an adventure right from the beginning. She left Flin Flon in her teens, and ended up in Medicine Hat, Alberta to become a film editor. She met Dan, married and had Reg, then they moved to Hamilton to put CHCH TV on the air where Gord and Brian came along.
Devoted to her family, her caring and generous ways meant she became a spiritual mother to a much wider group of people. Through her life and jobs, she continued to build these relationships. Joan was a compassionate person who always put other people ahead of herself.
Joan left a legacy of love, care, and joy. As a grandmother she excelled at spoiling the grandchildren with treats and love. She will be missed.
Please consider a donation to the Margaret's Place Hospice, an exceptional facility of caring professionals.
