Joanne Elizabeth Holmes was called upon much too early to our Lord on Saturday, April 30, 2022. Born November 20, 1948, to Albert and Elizabeth Santone, Joanne, to all who knew her was an extremely selfless, generous warm individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.
A dedicated Nurse for many years. Working at Henderson Hospital then later at Macassa Lodge in Hamilton, she was devoted to bettering the lives of others. A permanent fixture in her children and grandchildren's lives, she showed all with not only gifts but endless love and support on an unmatched level. Loved by her many friends, memories were made during her love of bowling and line dancing. Laughter and smiles were expressed throughout her time of travel and excitement was continuous with her love of Blue Jay games. She is survived by Andrew Holmes, whom she was married to for 29 years, her three loving children and five grandchildren. Danielle and her husband Alex, Abigail, Andrea and her husband David, Jovie and Griffin, and Richard and his wife Erin, Trent and Silas, her sister Paula Kientopp, husband John, niece Krista, husband Mike, Liam and Evan. A sincere and special thank you is wanting to be expressed to Dr. Fernandez and the entire nursing staff at Juravinski Hospital (Ward C3) and specifically to Dr. Levine, who's dedication to ensuring our beloved Joanne was as comfortable as possible was exceptional. Visitations are to be held at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 2 - 4 p.m. & 6 - 8 p.m. (796 Upper Gage Ave., Hamilton, On). A service is to be held at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10 a.m, burial to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (254 Garner Rd. W., Ancaster, On). Joanne was also a very avid supporter of animals. The love she had for her many pets over the years was endless and so in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA.
