John David CARTY

1930 - 2021

Peacefully at home in his 91st year, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Forbes) for 67 years. Loving father of Shawn (Kathie), Kevin (Francoise), Bern (Pauline), MaryAnn Barrett (Al), and Dan. He will be missed by 13 grandchildren and their spouses, as well as 10 great-grandchildren all of whom he loved dearly. Deeply loved by in-laws Bob (deceased) and Maureen, Glen (deceased) and Rosemary, Jim (deceased) and Marjorie (deceased), Bernadette Noon and Pat (deceased), Greg (deceased) and Jackie, and Tony. Only son of Anne and Jack Carty. John was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Parish since its inception, serving as Eucharistic Minister and Lector, contributing to several committees and fundraisers. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus. John was a dedicated Medical Specialist Representative for CIBA, now Novartis, for over 37 years. The family wishes a heartfelt thanks to the many individuals who kept Dad comfortable at home.

Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave. (between Mohawk and Fennell), on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish (305 E 37th St, Hamilton) on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 10 a.m. Those wishing to attend the Visitation or Funeral Mass must RSVP either on the funeral home website at www.dermodys.com or by calling 905-388-4141. Everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing. A private family burial will take place.
