John CLOKE Obituary

CLOKE, John Francis Sr. (Retired teacher in Parry Sound) Passed away peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital on Saturday, December 24, 2016. He leaves his wife Donna Cloke; his son, John Cloke Jr; his daughter, Lara and her husband Malcolm; brothers; a sister; the children of Donna Cloke, Jeff and wife Lori, Kevin and wife Angie; and grandchildren. Raised in Burlington, the son of the late William and the late Margaret (Branscombe) Cloke, he attended University and lived most of his life in Parry Sound before returning to Burlington. John taught school in Parry Sound including time as a school guidance councillor. His passion for his students, their learning and well being was evident throughout his teaching career which spanned over 30 years. He was a respected member of the community and a dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge, becoming a 32nd degree mason within the lodge. John was a member of the Scottish Rite of Hamilton, where he received his 32nd degree. He was also a member of the Shriners for a number of years. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at St. Georges Anglican Church (Lowville), 7051 Guelph Line, Campbellville, Ontario on Friday December 30, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. A Masonic service will be held prior to the service. Reception will follow at the church. If desired, donations to the Cancer Society, St. Georges Church or your charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
