John Michael McINNES

1946 - 2021

May 1, 1946 - October 11, 2021.
Safe in the arms of his family, John Michael McInnes passed away peacefully on Monday October 11th in his 76th year. After fighting ALS bravely and valiantly, he is now at peace. Beloved husband and best friend to Christine Walker. Loving and devoted father to his son Shane (Wanda) and daughter Jackie-Lee from his first marriage to Sandra. Loving Stepdad to Blair (Carly) and Ryan (Stacey). Missed dearly by all his grandchildren, siblings (spouses), nieces and nephews.
During his elaborate career John was a champion boxer, an astronaut, a videographer, a printing press operator, a skydiver, a curator of beautiful saltwater fish, a dedicated Blue Jays and Maple Leafs fan, a scuba diver, a biker, a globetrotter, a prankster and his elaborate storytelling skills were legendary.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his renowned ability to make others laugh and feel special. He lived life to the fullest and always had a positive attitude no matter what life threw at him. John gave his children a lifetime of precious guidance and a vast abundance of warm and uplifting memories. He will be profoundly missed and forever loved.
John received exceptional care from the nurses at the Juravinski Hospital, the Innomar Clinic and the ALS Society of Canada. A very special thanks to Tanya, Pamela and JB, all of whom not only attended to his physical needs but also showed him such care, compassion and kindness which made such a tremendous difference to him and to our family. At John's request cremation has taken place. A family Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
