MELO, John L. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John at the Juravinski Hospital with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the age of 50. Beloved husband of Nellie (nee Medeiros) for 29 years. Loving father of Samantha and Nicholas. Dear son of Maria and the late Manuel Melo, dear son-in-law of Jose and Gloria Medeiros. Loving brother and brother-in-law to Joe, Elvira and Paulo Silva, Peter and Nelia. Dear brother-in-law to Natalie and Manuel Arruda, Elizabete and Brent Simpson. Survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada and Sao Miguel, Azores. A special thank you to the ICU at the Juravinski Hospital for their excellent care. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E. on Friday, October 5, from 2-4 and 5-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Mary's Church on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
