Joyce STEWART Obituary
On October 1, 2021, at age 89, our beloved mother peacefully left us. Joyce Stewart, formerly Piett (nee Pettit) was predeceased by her first husband John Piett (1968), and by her second husband Arthur Stewart (2011). She will be greatly missed by George Muir. Cherished mother of Marilyn Baxter (Robin Aggus), Cathy Piett (Ron Irwin) and Jennifer Knobloch (Carl) and step-mother to Clare Stewart (Carl Sneyd). Much-loved grandmother of Iain, Beth (Steven), Virginia (CJ and baby Kenya), John, Jack (Arianne), Saralee (Matthew), Kyle (Kristen) and Kurt. Predeceased by sister Marie Cowherd and brothers Jim Pettit and Roy Pettit. She will be sadly missed by her many friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Born on July 22, 1932, Joyce was a life-long Hamiltonian, a dedicated primary teacher, and a member of St. Andrews United Church. In retirement she enjoyed quilting, gardening, and travelling. She loved being a grandma. The family extends its grateful thanks to Eden House Care Facility, for their compassionate care of Joyce these past three years.
