Karen MIRANDA Obituary

MIRANDA, Karen (nee Rieger) June 27, 1951 - April 4, 2019 With her high school sweetheart and husband of 49 years, Gord, by her side, Karen passed away peacefully. She was an extremely proud Mother of David (Catherine), Chris (Carla) and ""her favourite"" Jenny (Reese). She will be sadly missed by her ""fore"" beloved grandchildren Eric, Veronica, Cole and ""My Cooper"". Grandma will be with you through every exam, every championship game and every first date. She will be missed at book club, ladies golf league, baseball diamonds, hockey rinks, swim meets and improv shows. Survived by her best friend and sister Leslie (Brad), brother Ron (Wendy). Many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Karen was a nurse for 31 years at St. Joe's but a nurse by character her entire life. Karen retired in 2015 to play golf with her husband and friends and to attend every class trip there was with her Grandchildren. Forever the romantic Gord and Karen would kiss every time they crossed over a bridge. We know Karen will continue to see this beautiful world and watch her family and friends do great things in a very special way via her cornea organ donation to Trillium Gifts for Life. In lieu of flowers, donations to Special Olympics is Karen's request. This is important to Karen as her great-nephew Addison Sing is an avid participant playing many sports. Belleville and Quinte West Special Olympics, 130 Young Street, Box 239, Shannonville, Ont.
