December 18, 1933-March 9, 2022
Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital in her 89th year. Predeceased by her husbands Emmerich Kildau (1981) and Manfred Bock (2011), her parents Johann and Katharina Csermak, brother John Csermak and her loving Oma and Opa Stark. Cherished mother of Werner Kildau (Barbara), and Erica Kildau-Stearns (Kirk). Proud Oma of Nicole (Tony), and Alicia. Katie was especially proud of her great-granddaughter Aurora Rose. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Aileen Csermak and her nephews, extended family and friends. Katie was born in Gadacs, Hungary. After WWII, she had an incredible journey taking her to the former East Germany and eventually landing in West Germany where she met her husband Emmerich. They married in Alymer, Ontario on July 10, 1954, eventually settling in Hamilton where they raised their family. After Emmerich died, Katie enjoyed babysitting and spending time with her granddaughters. During that time, she met Manfred Bock and they married in 1989. Manfred became a proud Opa to Nicole and Alicia. Katie and Manfred enjoyed travelling which included 20 cruises as well as trips to Europe and Las Vegas. She had great faith in God and was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she volunteered and was active in the many groups. The family would like to thank The Village of Wentworth Heights for the excellent care and activities that were provided during her stay there, especially during the pandemic when we couldn't see her. Also a special thank you to the doctors and nurses in the emergency room and palliative care at St. Joseph's Hospital. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 11 am until the time of the Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1 pm.
