1949 - 2021
A faithful and beloved brother, uncle and friend, Keith Belcher Forsyth of Grimsby was taken suddenly and unexpectedly from us on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the age of 72, after a brief illness. A retiree from Dofasco, Keith was a life-long bee keeper, having been introduced to apiculture in an agricultural studies course in high school. Over the decades he supplied many friends, family and devotees with ambercoloured jars of delicious, golden honey. He was also a bee inspector with the provincial Ministry of Agriculture and Food in association with the University of Guelph, a member of the Ontario Bee Keepers' Association, a past director of the Eastern Apicultural Society, and friend to everyone in the bee-keeping field, receiving the Montoux Award for his outstanding contributions to bee keeping. An avid and voracious reader, Keith for years was never without his best little buddy, his dog Corky. Keith was predeceased by his parents: Robert and Georgina (nee Belcher) Forsyth; sister-in-law, Rosalee Forsyth (nee Tiveron); aunts: Amy Harrison and Kay Belcher; and sisters Heather Dew and Ethelyn Passmore. He is survived by his brother Robert (Irene) Forsyth of Grimsby; and sister: Amy Stevens, of Guelph. He leaves also his great friend of 37 years, Margaret Hodgson, and will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews, and their children and grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff and doctors of West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and paramedics for their kindness and alacrity in doing everything possible to ensure Keith received the best of care. Services and/or a memorial will be held at a later date, due to restrictions related to the Covid19 pandemic. Cremation has taken place with interment at Queen's Lawn Cemetery at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions to McNally House Hospice would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, GRIMSBY, 905-945-2755.
