Doctor Mustard saved my life on May 21st. 1981. I was hit by a truck at 60 miles per hour on my motorcycle. Dr. Mustard saved my left lower leg from being amputated. He saved my right leg and left arm also. I will forever be indebted to him. I am still alive because of him. I send my deepest condolences to his whole family.

Laura and myself are truly saddened to hear of the passing of Ken. Our deepest condolences are with you, Bev and family. Ken was instrumental in shaping my own career as a pediatric surgeon – I simply would not be a surgeon today without Ken’s influence. I am forever grateful for his mentorship in some very formative years. I had the privilege of meeting Ken while participating in a co-op at the community hospital. He is the consummate surgeon. He was truly a proud member of the community willing to sacrifice so much for the care of his patients. I learned many important lessons that have been passed on to some of my own students. Ken was more than teacher and mentor. He was a good friend who guided me carefully as I started my own career as a surgeon. I continue to have the graduation gift that Ken so kindly chose for me. His love of art was reflected in a metal sculpture of a rooster. That sculpture sits on the top of my desk and is a constant reminder to demonstrate humility in all I do. I will sincerely miss Ken and thank him for guiding my own hands and heart. Godspeed Ken. We’ve got the scalpel from here !

Ken was such an amazing inspirational man. I fondly recall meeting Ken for the first time in February 1996 when I came to Dunnville to consider taking over the job of general surgeon at HWMH. He was 69 years old at the time and looked like he was 49. I thought to myself "Wow, this must really be a relaxing low-stress place to practice surgery". Ken was kind enough to help me with my first several C-sections, hip fractures, etc. to get me acclimatized. He and Bev made Lori and I feel very welcome from the get-go. It was so fitting that the surgical suite at HWMH was recently named in his honour. I will miss this great colleague.

I would like to offer the Mustard Family our sincere condolences. For years, we were neighbours on Victoria Avenue. I went to school with Kevin from the early years at Fairview, thru Central School to high school at DSS. Dr. Mustard was a pillar of our community serving the citizens of Dunnville as a very dedicated and skilled surgeon; as well as being a force to be reckoned with on the golf course! He shall be truly missed! Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bev, Glen and Rob. From Wendy and the rest of the Couvillon Family.

So very sorry to hear this news--my deepest condolences to Bev, Glen, and Robbie. Your family was so much a part of mine in the '60s and '70s--who could have imagined that my mother's mastectomy surgery would have led to such a friendship? Ken was so handsome, and funny, and accomplished--it is a privilege to have known him.

Deb and I are so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. We've known Ken, Bev and family for more than 50 years, and we remember him as such an accomplished man who seemed to be able to do anything he put his mind to, but more importantly, as a friend who always seemed so pleased to see and talk to us. Our sincere sympathies to Bev and family.
