The family of Larry Evans is sad to announce his sudden passing in his 82nd year on September 27, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Jane. He shared 2 wonderful children, Deborah (Jeannot) and John (Jennifer), with his first wife Marilyn. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Alford. He is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews, especially Dean Nevinger who spent many years living and growing up with Larry and Jane. He was a special Pa to Merissa and Grandpa to Ashley and James. He will be remembered by Brock and his favourite snuggle buddy Lily. Larry will also be missed by many friends. Larry was a teacher and then a principal with the Hamilton Board of Education for 35 years, starting and ending his career in Hamilton at Lawfield Middle School, where he met Jane and many of his lifelong friends. Larry had a very quick wit and sense of humour that would have any group he was in laughing. He loved his weekly golf games with his son John and grandson James. He loved a good game of cards, especially the family game of Mexican Rummy and poker with his friends. He was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays from the time the team was formed. He loved going to the games in Toronto and to spring training in Dunedin, Florida. He was also a long-suffering Toronto Maple Leafs' fan, each year remaining faithful that this would be the year. We hope he is winning at the Casino in heaven. The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the St. Joseph's Home Dialysis Team, especially his nurse Christine, for all their care and support. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home ANCASTER CHAPEL 378 Wilson St. E., Ancaster, ONT (905-648-3852). on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 12:30-3 p.m. A Private Family Interment to follow at a later date.
