PALETTA, Larry Sr. (Renzo) October 6, 1940 - June 30, 2017 After proving to be our hero once again, and having been anointed with the Holy Oils of his Church, Larry was peacefully welcomed into the arms of the Lord. Larry was born in Spezzano della Sila, Calabria, Italy, and was always proud of his heritage. The loves of his life were his family- especially his grandchildren, the cattle business, and his collection of Tony Lama Full Quill Ostrich Cowboy Boots. His cattle buying days began long ago, and established many lasting friendships and long conversations which generated infinite stories about the Cowboy from Calabria. He leaves- but will always watch over- his loving wife Mirella (Cicchi), his beloved children: Larry Jr. (Ilaria), Marcus, Peter (Lily), Elena (Jeremy), Nicolas, and David (Emilie), and his cherished grandchildren: Giacomo, Massimo, Ella, Chiara, Scarlett, Delilah and Farrah. He was predeceased by his parents Francesca and Francesco Paletta, his brothers Mario (Ersilia), Tony, and Peter (Lucille), his sister Giuseppina (Vito), his brother-in-law Egidio Piro, his niece Gloria and his nephew Antony. He was also predeceased by his parents-in-law, Elena and Peter Cicchi. He is survived by his brothers Pasquale (Anita), and Vincent (Diana), and by his sisters Emma (Stano) and Sara. He will be mourned by his in-laws: John Fabrizio (the late Joann), Terry and Angelo Ferrelli, and Cindy and Romeo Andreatta. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his cat Diesel, whom he called Rumble. Resting at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E. (near James) Hamilton. Visitation Tuesday, July 4th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with vigil prayers at 8 p.m. A Mass in celebration of Larry's life will be shared on Wednesday, July 5th at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 934 Highway # 8, Stoney Creek. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery. In honour of Larry and in lieu of flowers, please support the MS Society, the Hamilton Health Sciences ICU East at Hamilton General Hospital in appreciation of the excellent care given to Larry when he was hospitalized, or to a
charity of your choice.
