Lillian MacFARLANE Obituary

It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother in her 92nd year. Lillian (Lil) passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022. She is now reunited in heaven with her loving husband Robert and daughter Janine. Loving mother of Deb (Mike) Gerace and Bob MacFarlane. Grandmother of Shawn MacFarlane, Courtney, and Tara. Predeceased by her parents Guido and Enrica Marini, sisters Anne Galdenzi, Lorraine Vagnoni, Eva Marranca and brother Melio Marini. Sister-in-law of Dino Vagnoni, Jean Marini, and Kay MacFarlane. Lil will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Lil's greatest and most cherished love was her family and spending time with them which was her pride and joy. She loved cooking, baking and cake decorating. Many of us were recipients of her beautiful doll cakes or money cakes. Lil was also an active member of St. Eugene's CWL for over 25 years and volunteered at St Peter's Hospital for many years. She was famous for remembering everyone's birthday and special dates by sending cards which contained money or lotto tickets. She was the card queen and always had them ready for any occasion. Lil's big heart, courage, strength, and feistiness will be missed by everyone who knew her. Special thanks to the staff of Ridgeview LTC, Sara Calder House for their outstanding care during Lil's time there. Everyone was awesome! Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday, November 21 from 4-8 pm. Masking would be appreciated by the family. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene's Parish (Parkdale and Queenston) on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 10 am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Always in our Hearts, Never Forgotten. May she rest in peace.

Mrs. MacFarlane was my mother Lena Agostini´s dear friend from the days of their youth. Their friendship continued at St. Eugene´s Church where they were devoted members of the C.W.L. They worked together on the annual church bazaar for many years organizing the craft & bake sale tables.
Lil was the kindest, caring person & often drove my mother to Mass & grocery shopping & for coffee after church on Sundays.
My condolences to Lil´s family. God bless.
