Malcolm McCreadie Obituary

McCREADIE, Malcolm McCullum McArthur:
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Malcolm in his 93rd year on March 5, 2022 surrounded by our loving "clan". Beloved husband of Allison [predeceased], and adored father of Charles [Maureen], Malcolm [predeceased], Michael [Marsha], Ellison [Bill], Fiona [Lloyd]. Cherished brother-in-law to Kahleen [Frank], and cousin to May all the way in Glasgow, Scotland. Adored Uncle to Kahleen [Steven] in London, England. Loving "Papa" to 12 beautiful grandchildren (Calvin, Moira (Dwayne), Sheena (Dustin), Elyse, Kirstie (Tyler), Sara (Mike), Kahleen, Aidan, Megan, Marissa, Tyler and Connor), and great "Papa" to 4 little angels (Shyla, Layla, Dahlia, and Hayes).
Many have been touched by Malcolm's unconditional kindness, compassion, wisdom and integrity. Arriving from Glasgow, Scotland with the love of his life [Allison] and sons Charles and Malcom, settled in Hamilton to continue to build a strong family and equally strong roots in the Hamilton community as a respected trade unionist, volunteer, humanitarian, and brother of Local 1005 along with many other coalitions devoted to equity and protecting the wellbeing of all.
Malcolm will be deeply missed by his loving family and the many friends who had the privilege to meet
Malcolm and cherish the extraordinary and everlasting warm, genuine and caring impression imprinted on them.
The family extends sincere gratitude and admiration to Dr. Pugsley for the decades of care along with the compassion, tenderness and short care of the palliative care team, Dr. Kapoor, and our angel Jenna all at the Hamilton General Hospital. We are grateful that Malcolm is reunited with his soulmate [Allison] and son [Malcolm] along with others dear to him. As per Malcolm's wishes cremation has taken place and private interment with the family and loved ones to take place. In lieu of flowers, Malcolm would have appreciated donations to Hamilton Food Share, St. Matthews House or someone in need. A celebration of life will be planned in the Spring.
"The world has taken him back unto himself on the wings of the wind. May his spirit soar together with his soulmate"

Malcolm was a good man. Knew him and Allison as friends of Irene and Harry Shipton in the 70s. Also through the USW and SOAR. Sadly missed. Sincere condolences to family and friends.

My deepest sympathy to all the Family that Malcolm has left behind. As a Union Brother in Local 1005, I knew him as a decent, caring individual who was dedicated to the welfare of his co-workers and in building the Union. No matter what polarizing issues might be at the fore, all of us active in the Union knew that Malcolm would always be one of those putting common welfare ahead of the politics of the moment. Truly know that the world is a better place because Malcolm McCreadie gave so much of himself to make it so.

Dear Ellison, Bill, Kirstie, Marissa and Tyler-

Our deepest condolences are extended to you and your entire family. I remember your dad fondly. He had the energy of an 18 year old, the wisdom of a philosopher and the biggest heart. I know you will remember him fondly with love as the days and years roll by. He will be forever with you, and know now that he is at peace. May his memory be eternal. Sending you our love and prayers always. - Cousins Jim, Nancy, Billy and Angelo
