Margaret MACMILLAN Obituary
Passed away peacefully on November 18, 2021, in Toronto, Ontario, just a few days shy of her 83rd birthday. She was born November 22, 1938. Margaret was the eldest daughter of James and Ethel Dailey of Strabane. She looked like a city girl but was a farm girl at heart. She spoke lovingly of her childhood on the farm, picking strawberries for market, and playing with her siblings, Jim, John and Susan. She took a job in the city, working at Eatons. But it was a blind date with George MacMillan that took her away from the farm, and off to a new life. They married in 1964 in a small but elegant country wedding, complete with a Boy Scout Salute. George died in April 2020. Margaret had three children, Allan, David and Marcia. She is survived by her children, and their spouses and grandchildren, Glo, Stu and Jake; Julie, Reagan and Rachel; Dave and Zachary. Living in Ancaster was her dream. She ran a business while raising her young family. With the spare time she had, she worked on the flower beds and perfecting her pie crust. She loved fashion and was always put together; she wouldn't be caught without her lipstick on. Like her mother, she was diagnosed with dementia in her late 70's. Margaret touched all who knew her. She was funny, loving, gentle yet strong. Her family is heartbroken by her loss but takes comfort in knowing she is waltzing in heaven with her late husband. A memorial will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Marshall Memorial United Church in Ancaster, Ontario. The service will begin at 11am. If you wish to make a donation in Margaret's name, please do so to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
