It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Margaret at the age of 100. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, F. John McMulkin, her son Bruce, and daughter Elizabeth. Survived by her daughter Mary McMulkin (James Belyea); by her grandsons Laurence McMulkin (Brittany), Jasper McMulkin and Alistair Belyea (Andrea); and by her great-granddaughters Cypress and Ever McMulkin. Margaret was born in Toronto. She graduated from North Toronto Collegiate Institute and received a certificate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto in 1942. Margaret was a charter member of Port Nelson United Church and a lifetime Elder. She was a past President of the Port Nelson United Church Women and the Big Sister Association of Hamilton. Margaret travelled the world with her husband John. She enjoyed summers at the cottage with her family and various "grand dogs", until ill health took over. The family would like to thank Amica Bronte Harbour for their care and compassion these past two years. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Margaret's life will take place at Smith's Funeral Home, 485 Brant St (one block north of city hall), Burlington on Wednesday, March 22nd at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Big Sisters Big Brothers of Grand Erie, Halton & Hamilton, specifically Big Sisters of Hamilton - Youth Services or Port Nelson United Church Memorial Fund.
