Marica GRGURIC

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Marica Grguric (Mihelic) in her 84th year on Wednesday, February 02, 2022 with her sons by her side. Reunited with her beloved husband Alojz (2011). Marica will be greatly missed by her loving sons, Alex (Marianne), John (Vicky) and Joe (Isabelle). Much loved "Staramama" to Lillian (Johny), Steven (Amanda), David, Nicholas (Julie), Julianna, Anthony, Maya and Olivia; and little Rudy and Mikey. Predeceased by her parents Ivan and Jelka Mihelic and two infant sisters. Dear loving sister of Janica Podrebarac (Alojz) and Ljubica Cackovic (Ivan predeceased) and aunt to Alex Podrebarac, Kathy Susic, John Cackovic, Carol Brunton, Susie Jezerinac and their families. Predeceased by sisters-in-law Anna (Ivo) Persin, Nevenka (Vinko) Palijas and brother-in-law Josip and survived by their families. Marica also leaves behind family and friends in Canada, USA and Croatia. Mom was a strong woman (especially raising three boys!). She had a genuine heart that was always kind and full of compassion. Mom was a wonderful baker and cook and a master strudel maker!! She loved her family with her whole heart but her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren were her special loves. Sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Mom's health care team at the Juravinski Hospital ICU and F5 teams for their dedication, compassion and kindness during this difficult time. The family will receive friends at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton on Sunday, February 06, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. with Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Croatian Church on Monday, February 07, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington. If desired, donations to Holy Cross Croatian Church would be appreciated by the family.
