Marjorie STAPLETON Obituary

STAPLETON, Marjorie (nee Smith) Peacefully, on Thursday, August 10th in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Lloyd Stapleton (1993). Loving mother of Doug (Linda), Dan (Julian) and Kathie Stapleton. Cherished grandmother of Chris (Beth) Stapleton, Brad (Heidi) Moore and Kristen (Gavin) Pearcey. Great-grandmother of five. Will be dearly missed by devoted friend Jim Tyrrell. Predeceased by sisters Kaye Irwin and Mim Dilworth. Marjorie was a long-time member of the United Church and the United Church Women. She was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She approached life with an unfailingly positive attitude, had a great smile and sense of humour and made the most delicious butter tarts. Many thanks to Christine Roketta for her steadfast love and generosity and to St. Peter's Residence for their care. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at the M.A. CLARK & SONS FUNERAL HOME (567 Upper Wellington Street, Hamilton) on Saturday, August 26th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to celebrate her life to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Committal service will take place at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
