Mary "May" Heron

On April 10th at the age of 87, our Mom was called home to Heaven. She is now reunited with her parents and 6 siblings. She will be greatly missed by her husband Andy whom she was married to for almost 63 years. His devotion and love for Mom was unmatched. His life was dedicated to her and when she moved to LTC he rarely missed a daily visit. May will be sadly missed by her children Drew, Gary (Rose), Angela (Chris) and Beverly (Jamie). She will also be greatly missed by her 8 beloved Grandchildren Jessica, Rebecca, Brooke, Caitlin, Liam, Gabriel, Daniel and Sophia. Mom absolutely loved her children and grandchildren and spoke about them all the time. She will also be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews around the world. In 1976, Mom and Dad left their beloved country Northern Ireland and came to Canada with their four children. It was a huge sacrifice for them both, but they did what was best for their children always. Mom was known for her great sense of humour and was always the life of the party. We would like to thank Mom's dear friends whom she loved so much. A special thank you to all of the staff at Extendicare in Hamilton for the care mom received over the last 5 years, many of you were like family to her and our Dad. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated by the family.
