Mary LANZA

LANZA, Mary (nee DiFederico) Peacefully at the age of 89, Mary passed away at St. Peter's Hospital on June 29, 2017. She will be lovingly remembered for her generosity, compassion, and unwavering grace. Beloved wife of the late Vincent (Jim) Lanza (2013) for over 63 years and cherished mother to Carolyn McMillan (the late Dexter McMillan, 2014) and Anthony Lanza (Christina). Mary's beautiful soul will be profoundly missed by her five grandchildren, Alayna Lanza (Scott Hannaford), Victor Lanza (Lisa), Paxton McMillan (Lesley), Catherine McMillan (Jaime Sorgente), and Gregory McMillan (Elspeth Poole). She is also survived by her adored great-grandchildren Carson, Ayva, and Grayson Hannaford and Evan and Ella McMillan. Mary will be dearly missed by her last surviving sister Irene Rafais, her sisters-in-law Ann Lanza and Isabelle Lanza, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides being a devoted wife, mother, sister and grand- mother, Mary was unparalleled in the kitchen, was an avid knitter, and took great pleasure in reading. She also enjoyed volunteering in her daughter's kindergarten classrooms over the years. The family would like to thank the loving staff on 3 West at St. Peter's Hospital for their exceptional care. Family and friends are invited to honour Mary's memory at her daughter's home on Sunday, July 16th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Memorial donations to St. Peter's Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
